Lawson's best-in-class integration engine shines in IHE Connectathon test, Lawson now to participate in HIMSS Interoperability Showcase for sixth year in a row

Lawson Talent Management ranks high in IDC MarketScape, report cites flexible access and Lawson's industry expertise
ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb 16, 2011 -- Lawson Software (Nasdaq: LWSN) today announced it will demonstrate the company's ability to enable interoperability among electronic health records (EHRs) during the Interoperability Showcase, part of the HIMSS 2011 Conference & Exhibition. The conference runs February 21-24 in Orlando, Fla., where leading organizations will showcase their ability to collaborate and break down barriers in healthcare interoperability. To participate in the Interoperability Showcase, the Lawson Cloverleaf IHE Infrastructure Adaptor recently passed 12 critical profile tests in the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) event in Chicago.

IHE is an initiative by healthcare professionals and the broader industry to improve the way healthcare IT (HCIT) systems share information. Systems developed in accordance with IHE profiles are shown to communicate with one another better, are simpler to implement, and help healthcare providers use information more effectively.

In the run-up to the Interoperability Showcase, Lawson demonstrated that the Lawson Cloverleaf IHE Infrastructure Adaptor provided for the secure, standards-based transfer of clinical documents across multiple IT systems. This helps healthcare organizations share key clinical information within their organizations and with external EHRs and health information exchanges. Lawson Cloverleaf and the IHE Adaptor are part of the groundwork to build a health information exchange and lay the foundation for meeting "Meaningful Use" requirements and becoming an Accountable Care Organization.

Lawson's was the only offering that demonstrated detailed graphical views of the flow of information, which helps identify connection problems in remote systems within a health information exchange. This view helps a healthcare organization resolve data transfer problems faster, which is essential since healthcare organizations need immediate access to information in electronic medical records.

"The Lawson Cloverleaf Integration Engine and IHE Adaptor enables legacy applications and more modern IHE-capable systems to exchange clinical documents and data, which is critically important when it comes to delivering exceptional patient care," said Jim Catalino, general manager for Lawson Healthcare. "We are committed to ongoing advancement of healthcare integration and interoperability, and look forward to showcasing our expertise during the Interoperability Showcase for the sixth year in a row. This also allows us to work with other technology vendors and further demonstrate our commitment and leadership in helping healthcare organizations be more effective in their HIE strategies."
